In a recent article, I wrote about moving the energy of your life by physically moving the contents in your life. The directions were to move 8 items in your home; throw it out, move it to another spot, give it away, put it away, sell it, and at the very minimum, clean it! You must move at least 8 items, but you can move more than that if you want. We are talking furniture, books, magazines, plants, bric-a-brac, lamps, paintings, area rugs, coat racks, tables, craft paraphernalia, clothing, toys – anything you can think of that is able to be moved, move it to another spot (no cheating with just inching it a little to the left). Did anybody try it? What happened in your life?
It is always advantageous when the person giving the advice actually takes it themselves, and I did. I wrote that article 6 months ago and it was like a whirlwind blew through here! Not only do I now own a dog; I have moved (to clarify, I MOVED, as in my domicile), decluttered, and given away. I signed up for a stint at the gym. I’ve been working with my doctors to eventually have knee replacement surgery; in my new home I have artwork on the walls and curtains on the windows (trust me, those are momentous actions for me). I bought cookbooks and new pans and kitchen tools – I now look forward to cooking (that’s big, too). I lost 10 pounds and I wasn’t even paying attention! (Now, THAT’s a gift.)
You might see that a person cleaned up her home. What I see is a person who cleaned up her energy and gave a big shout out to Spirit that she was awake, alive, and ready for change; that she was open to Spirit helping her do all of the things she said she could not do.
But wait, there’s more to the story.
Without asking a soul, 5 people who I knew volunteered to help me move. Two of them hung all of my artwork (which hasn’t been on the wall in maybe 7 years); another made curtains for me; another unpacked the whole mess and helped me organized it again in the new space; someone else gave me cash; another brought food.
Really?
Yes. I could not have planned it more beautifully as it all fell together. There were so many spiritual gifts bestowed that I had to write them down so I wouldn’t forget. I now live in an organized, neat (not perfect) home that is a joy to welcome people in to visit. I entertained relatives during the holidays – a time I have not wanted to celebrate in more than a decade. I even cooked. (Trust me. It’s a big deal.)
No, I didn’t see beings of light with angel wings or spirit-people with long, wizened beards. I did not hear choirs of angels singing, or see sparkles or feel chills up my spine – but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there. The evidence of their manifestation in my life was the total alteration of my spiritual energy.
I am a little worried about Spring Cleaning Time. I think I better hold on to my hat…
