I was born in Liverpool and currently reside in Shropshire. Having had a child form of epilepsy and having been bullied in school I slipped through the net. My day dreaming was mistaken for lack of interest rather than my condition. I left school with zero confidence. I had always wanted to be a writer but my spelling and grammar were poor so I decided not to pursue it but continued to brush up my English and refine my craft. It was only years later when I was I was working as a literacy tutor that I allowed myself to dream again. I was tutoring a student to read and encouraging him to follow his dream which was to write a book. However I never took action and so my goal stayed a dream. A year ago I managed to finally live my dream and publish my two books. My poetry has been featured in UK Greeting Card magazine, showcased in local restaurants and also in exhibitions. Q: How long have you been writing and how did you get started?
There is a standing joke in my family that I was born with a pen in my hand. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I came from a creative family. My grandparents were writers and my mum used to read me her stories at bedtime. I sent my first book off to Mills and Boons when I was 11 however as my grammar wasn’t at its best it barely got a look in although I did receive a nice reply from them. My 11 year old ego didn’t really recover and I never sent anything off after that however I did continue to write stories though for my own pleasure. After home educating my daughter and training to be a life coach that I thought it’s now or never.
I’d helped my daughter to pursue her own goal of being a writer and after watching her live her dream I decided to pursue my own. I started guest blogging for other businesses and later doing some freelance work for my own daughter. It is a funny story how flourish transpired. I’ve always written stories and never been interested in poetry. I was well known for sleep walking and sleep texting so it came to no surprise to discover that I’d written my very first vision poem in my sleeping hours. It was a poem that was telling me to believe in myself and do something different. It was onlyImage may be NSFW.

After reading the Secret by Rhonda and with mum’s encouragement I decided to write Flourish. I thought to myself if I could write a poem whilst I was a sleep then I could certainly do it whilst I was awake. I also created Magic in Tuscany a romantic novel around the same time and published them both in November 2013.
Q: What is the main focus or purpose of your book?
The main purpose of Flourish is to empower people. Flourish focuses on creativity, love, confidence and peace. The positive poems, quotes and mantras contained within the book are designed to boost a person’s mood and sign post them in a positive direction.
Q: What is the most meaningful or inspiring part of being a writer?
I think the most meaningful thing about being a writer is seeing the positive impact my words and thoughts have had on others’ lives. Seeing a smile light up their face or a thank you letter of how it has changed their life makes it all so worthwhile. I remember writing a personal development poem for a person. It had been tailor made to help him manifest his desires. I was delighted when he contacted me to say that it had helped him to increase his customer base and that he still had my vision poem up on his wall a year later. It’s moments like that that bring a big smile to my face.
Q: What’s on the horizon for you and your writing?
I’m in the middle of writing my 2nd romance Under the Tuscan Sun and I plan to write a book of positive nursery rhythms too. Only yesterday I was sat in a castle, pen in hand gaining inspiration for my future books.
